Description
In anticipation of Black Mesa v3 (for WindowBlinds 5 only) I'm releasing a skin to match the upcoming style for my favorite IM program, Miranda IM. The avatars show in the screenshot were manually loaded by me, most from people's avatars, some others I had to search and crop random image files to match their personalities.
Installation
First, you must have the following plugins installed:
clist_modern.dll -[Download!] loadavatarsW.dll (included with the modern list plugin above) png2dib.dll -[Download!]
Next, copy the Black Mesa skin to a new folder in your Miranda IM folder. So the skin should look something like... Program Files - Miranda IM - Skins - Black Mesa
Place all files in the "plugins" directory in your Miranda IM folder. Launch Miranda and look in your options for "Skins", then choose "Black Mesa" from the available list, if it doesn't show up, you placed the skin folder in the wrong place, if there is no "skin" listing in the options dialog, you haven't installed the proper plugins or placed them in the right place.
Notes
The 4 icons on the toolbar are from the GANT pack, made by mattahan.
Because visual styles (under Windows XP) is extremely limited. I always hated creating styles for that platform. Windowblinds 5 incorporates all the features I need to make a great skin.
I am possibly considering making an official port to the msstyles engine that runs native to Windows Vista, but not Windows XP. I will however, release the source files for BM3 for other people to port to Windows XP. I'm just through dealing with the limited native skinning capabilities of Windows XP.
I'm not abandoning anyone, I'm moving on because as an artist, you have to use what allows you to express yourself better. (eww, that came off kinda sappy and cliche)
ok, you seem to be passionate about what you do. (which is a great sign) as long as you release you art to the masses so they might one day further spread your work (on different platforms) its all fine by me.
by any chance, did you ever happen to skin winamp modern skins. I seem to only remember the name being valkyre or something close... it was in beta...
png2dib.dll
loadavatarsW.dll
cause the one posted aren't working

the individual contact rows seem to stretch out about 3 pixels beyond the rest of the contact list. do you know what this could be about?
